How to advantage play IGT’s “Treasure Box”

Treasure Box “Kingdom” at Circa Resort & Casino, Las Vegas

Treasure Box is yet another in a line of slot machines from IGT that can be advantage played & like many AP machines of this era it is extremely easy to understand & spot when the machine is in an advantageous state.

There are two bonus rounds in Treasure Box. One is a free games bonus which features games that are played with only the premium symbols, coins paying 3x & every spin is guaranteed to be a winner. The other bonus is called the respin bonus where you collect coins, multipliers, and jewels that correspond with progressives. The respin bonus can be achieved one of two ways. One is by hitting the amount of coins that is displayed on the top screen which starts at 6. The second is through the key symbol on reel 3. When a key is fully shown on reel 3 it will reduce the amount of coins needed to hit the respin bonus by one. If you get the key symbol when the meter is one it will trigger the respin bonus. Playing for the respin bonus is where you will find the advantage.

What to look for & how to advantage play Treasure Box

Spotting an advantage on Treasure Box is quite simple. As is the case with many machines that can be advantage played, each bet level on every denomination is unique. What you are looking for is to check each one and play anything that is a 4 or less & play it until you get the respin bonus. Of course the fewer coins required to get the bonus, the easier it is to trigger. Keep in mind to have a decent sized bankroll if you are going to tackle those higher denomination bets. It’s not totally uncommon to have the nightmare scenario of dumping a couple grand on a 10c, $25 bet before triggering the respin bonus.

Treasure Box is a solid game in my opinion. There are some duds when it comes to the respin bonus but it does pay pretty well for the most part & advantage plays appear fairly often so this is a machine that you’ll want to check on a regular basis. Treasure Box comes in two themes. One is an Asian theme titled “Dynasty” & the other an Egyptian theme titled “Kingdom.” Both themes play exactly the same.

Lastly, an opinion that I’ve seen online that I agree with is that it doesn’t make sense to leave Treasure Box on 10c denomination in hopes of getting an unsuspecting customer to accidentally bet high. The machine asks what denomination someone wants to play upon inserting money & frankly I’ve seen too many customers approach Treasure Box, see the 10c & walk away. Not surprisingly, I’ve also seen banks of 4-6 sit empty on weekends & some have already been converted into other games from what I would assume is a lack of play.
